The VCPC Spring Fling is a community-driven tournament put on by the Ventura County Pickleball Club at Rancho Conejo Playfield in Newbury Park. What sets this event apart is the fully automated tournament management through the SWISH App -- from registration to bracket placement to score reporting, everything runs through the platform. This means less waiting around for paper brackets and more time actually playing.
Rancho Conejo Playfield is a well-maintained public facility in the Conejo Valley, surrounded by the rolling hills of Ventura County. April in Newbury Park offers some of the best outdoor playing conditions in SoCal -- warm days in the low 70s with the occasional sea breeze drifting in from the coast. The venue is accessible from the 101 freeway and has adequate parking for tournament-sized crowds.
Entry fees range from $50 to $100 depending on the number of events you enter, which is reasonable for a DUPR-rated tournament. The VCPC community is known for being welcoming and well-organized, making this a particularly good choice for players entering their first or second tournament. All matches are DUPR-reported, so your results contribute to your official rating. Download the SWISH App before the event to familiarize yourself with the interface -- it handles court assignments, scoring, and match notifications.
