The MLP Playoffs hit San Diego in August for Round 2 of the three-round playoff series, and the stakes could not be higher. By this point in the season, teams have been separated into contenders and pretenders, and every match matters for championship positioning. Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego is a well-known venue in the tennis and pickleball world, providing an excellent setting for playoff-intensity competition.
Barnes Tennis Center offers solid infrastructure with multiple courts, good sightlines for spectators, and easy access from major San Diego freeways. August in San Diego means warm but not oppressive temperatures, with the marine layer often keeping mornings cool before burning off by midday. The Point Loma neighborhood surrounding the venue has great dining options, and you are a short drive from the beach if you want to make a weekend of it.
This is a spectator-only event, so grab your tickets early -- playoff rounds tend to sell faster than regular season events. The elimination-style format means every game carries weight, and the crowd energy reflects it. If you attended the Newport Beach regular season event in July, the playoff atmosphere will feel noticeably more intense. Check the MLP website for ticket packages and the latest team standings heading into the playoffs.
